We decided to hit the big things we wanted to do for Mother’s Day on Friday and Saturday because we all know that people jack up their prices on Mother’s Day since it’s a holiday and because… well…. They can. So we took it easy on Sunday and just wandered around the city of Los Angeles
We kicked off Sunday morning at church – we had to thank God for another Mother’s Day together! Truly blessed to still have my mother with me! After church, my Mommy has always wanted to go to Alfred’s Coffee (because one of our favorite bloggers – SincerelyJules – always posts photos of it lol) so I took her there for her morning latte and almond croissant We even got to browse through the Chocolate store they have connected inside. She loved it!
We enjoyed our coffee and to our surprise they were having a Farmer’s Market going on in the middle of Melrose Place. We strolled through the Farmer’s Market, had some samples and then stumbled upon Alfred’s Tea Room which will open later this month. Can we say HOLY CUTENESS?! It’s all pink and just looks soooo cute! With tea parties being my current fave – I’m so excited for this place to open just so I can enjoy an afternoon cup of tea in pink heaven.
After our morning cup of Jo(e) – see what I did there?! 😉 We decided to hit these cute stairs we’ve been wanting to see: Micheltorena Steps. They’re seriously so adorable and will brighten up your day. They were painted by the students of the Elementary School across the street. Who wouldn’t want to workout on these stairs every day?!
After we did a mini workout on the stairs I decided to take us to Union Station because just like The Getty – I’ve never been! I know I know… lol But I was happy to check it out with my Mom who’s also never been. It was beautiful in there! So much history. I want to go back and actually take the train to San Diego one day.
After we spent majority of the day in wanderlust – it was time to eat… and we were in luck. One of our favorite Italian restaurants was down the street – MASA. Pretty much the best deep dish pizza in LA! There was no wait, the food was DELICIOUS and they had bottomless Mimosas and Champagne for all the Mothers in attendance. How awesome right?! I think it’s safe to say, we were some pretty happy pizza eaters
Hope you all enjoyed your Mother’s Day weekend. Remember, Moms make the world go round. I’m lucky enough to have a Mother who was willing to do double duty and who literally is the epitome of an Independent Woman. I look up to my Mom so much for she has sacrificed more than you could imagine just to make sure we had a good life. I can only hope that I can be as good of a Mother one day as she’s always been to me. To my mom who’s always been there, shown me tough love when I needed to grow, my idol, my biggest support and my best friend – I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK MOM!
